Hello, what fish foods do you prefer to feed your fish (example: mysis, krill, cyclops, formula one/two, etc) and in what form (example: frozen, flake, freeze-dried, etc)?

Do you purchase your foods online or from store fronts?

Thanks to everyone who answers, hopefully everyone will :)

I use some flake algae, sheet nori, and everything else frozen: formula 1 & 2, brine, krill, Emerald Entree, Marine Cuisine, Angel Formula, & Pygmy Angel Formula, cyclop-eeze all mixed together.

I buy all of my food locally.

I got a seafood package at wal-mart. It has squid, octopus, fish, scallops, etc. I grinded some up and added a little garlic. I also feed nori sheets for my flame angel.

I use a combo similar to what Ross uses, add some Selcon and freeze it in zip locks (sometimes find it as a seafood gumbo mix). Also use mysis, krill and formula one flakes. Feed nori to by Bi-Color Angel. I add Selcon or Zoe to all my foods except the flakes. I never use brine shrimp unless its to get a new, finniky fish to start eating and they won't accept anything else.

I feed Brine Cubs, Mysis, Krill, Bio Plankton, and Formula One Pellets. I also make my own food out of what ever is on sale at HEB. Usually Shrimp, Clams, squid, white fish. Put in a blender and add Wet Nori, Fresh garlic Cloves, Bio Plankton, Water Soaked Pellets, Spirulina, Blue-Green Algae, and any other items from the sea. Make sure if you get seafood from the store it hasn't been treated with ANY thing. Some stores soak them in preservatives. Whole Foods is also a good place to go. $10 worth of the above yields about 6 Sandwich size ziplock bags. Very cheap compaired to Pet Store foods.

Then I make sure my tank gets fed something different everytime I feed. Store bought foods and home made. Change and variety are good. If anyone wants to try my food let me know. The fish go nuts over it.

In addition to the original questions, do you prefer to shop by brand name or rather what the product contains/made up of?

What its made up of. I use a blended concoction of frozen foods as above, except when training new fish to eat. Then its species specific till I get them converted, if possible. Flakes now and then and brine shrimp mixed in almost every time as well as all the rich foods. I occassionally use a split live mussel from the grocery. They ALL love that. Even the seahorse takes an interest as ridiculous as that is. Its a great vitamin A loaded treat for them.

mostly i feed frozen, i.e. mysis, cyclopeeze, bloodworms etc., once in a while a little brine; and krill and spirulina flake. I prefer to buy local rather than online -- I like to see what I'm getting, especially for livestock.
