I have recently placed two orders for farm raised Nassarius snails from forevergreenlandscapes2003@yahoo.com)
One was for 50 snails and the other for 200. IN both cases I have received them in perfect condition via USPS Priority. He ships them wrapped in a moist paper towel instead of water. This keeps his shipping cost low ($5.00) and since they get here in two days the survival rate is better than 95%. You simply add water from your tank and give them a slow acclimation and everything will be ok.
The best thing is the price. You can get 200 snails in the neighborhood of only $50! Drop him a line and tell him Alex from Austin referred you. I have no affiliation with this gentleman…simply trying to pass on a good deal to my fellow Central Texas reefers. Nassarius snails are the best (IMHO) detritus eaters you can have in your tank. I have never had to worry about anything dying and polluting my tank as these little buggers devour it. An additional benefit is that they bury themselves in your sand bed and come out whenever you feed your tank. This has the added benefit of stirring up your sand bed due to their scavenging activities.
