I just saw a GORGEOUS 7 gal mini bow that they have a squamosa in??? they said it has been in there for quite a while, and is growing. This is under the 32w PC lighting.......does anyone have any opinions on this? It seems like a good way to filter, but i know Maxima's need light. They have those small max's at quatic warehouse, would keeping one of those be advised?

I would stick with a squamosa/deresa.

I had a squamosa under PC lighting for a while too, it was under 3 55w PCs but it was also at the bottom of the tank which was probably about twice as deep as the 7 gal. It was growing well but I really think it helped when I upgraded to MH. I've heard if you feed clams well the lighting isn't as important but there are more qualified people on this forum that could probably answer this question better. How much lighting would the clam be in your tank, and how deep. I think that is the main issue because I'm positive that it can be done, it just may not be totally ideal. Would be cool though as long as the water quality was kept in check.

that would be an awesome setup if u copied that!!! keep us posted about it! as for the clam i used to have a squamosa in my 10 gal that i had 96 watts of pc light over and it did wondrously. i think squamosas and derasas should be ok in a tank with those parameters.

take kare, steve

Where is this place located? I went to www.AquaticWarehouse.com and they're located in San Diego, Ca.
