the first link is for catalina lights co, a.k.a. pet supply liquidator. i am currently running a dual 250wmh light fixture over my tank ( and a smaller 150whqi) made by them. the only complaint i have about them, is that the bulbs they send you are cheap knock offs, loose color, and burn out quickly, but the ballast and light fixture are great. the 2nd link, is ok, the 3rd and 4th are spot pendents, meaning, you get a alot of light directly underneath the pendent, but very little coverage area. so links 1 and 2 are your better choice, imo.

IMO #1 is the way to go w/ your tank. 2-175w would spread a little more than 1-250w.
I agree w/ reefer, at least some really strong fans to move plenty of air between the bulbs and the waters surface, Maybe a drier vent that pulls the heat from the area all together. Even that could not be enough and you might have to get a chiller.

hmmm, i wasn't really thinking too much about the heat, i am running my tank open top right now and it stays around 76, sometimes dropping to 74 at night, but i know in the summer it will get a lot hotter. i was thinking about just getting pc's, but i don't want to have the limits of it, although some ppl have been telling me that in a tank this shallow i could prob keep most anything. plus, a lot of MH systems are only a little higher than that of pc's. i have been trying to figure out my lighting solution for a long time, and i am still unsure of what to do.

Get one from premium aquatics. Try the double ended 250 watt halide it would work perfect on a tank that small and use less energy than 2 /175w. It will also give you better results.
