Well, I woke up this morning to find my 8" clown trigger dead. He was not doing well when I came home yesterday, but looked great, was eating and swimming around on Tuesday. Does anyone have any guesstimate on what age may come with the size of fish like this? I am completely clueless on why he went so quickly.

Thnaks,
Jenn

Jenn, so sorry to hear about that. Didn't you raise him from a small one? If he was in with the lion, he may have been rammed with one of those spines if the tank was too small for all of them. It may take more than one jab to make him succumb. That would explain the downhill trend that you noticed. If the last jab was a good one, that could do it.

Thanks Larry, that did cross my mind, especially since they have all grown so much. I have had him for about 1 1/2 years. I got him from Aquadome when he was about 3". If only he could have made it a little while longer, I have some options on getting a larger tank this weekend.

Jenn,
So sorry, an 8 inch clown is a big clown!

It did not died of old age, not when It was only 3 inches less than 2 years ago.
Sorry about your clown. They are very beautiful fish.

Have you count your fingers lately? Any missing fingers?

He was suprisingly gentle and only bit me once - still got all 10 of them. I guess it must have been the lion that stuck him. Those 2 grew incredibly fast. I have only had the lion for almost a year and he is a monster. Got him when he was a baby. Maybe I should run a steroid test on the water. Does Seaworld take overgrown fish?
