Just gettin home, and information is still sketchy, but here's what i've colected so far. It seems my girlfreinds 7yo son was matching MTV this afternoon, and decided to use a hammer as a microphone. He told me he saw the guy throw the microphone and then it came back, so he tried, guess what?, didn't work. It seems that the guy on tv had a cord on his microphone, Anyway the hammer preceded at a high velocity towards the the front glass of my BRAND NEW Oceanic 140. This hammer totaled the front glass, also caused my BRAND NEW CSL light to hit somebody( interagation still on going concerning this), and then to finalize the total destrution of my tank, the hammer cracked the bottom glass. Currently @1852 hours, his location is the far back corner of his mom's closet,He feel's so bad about this, that i can't mad.

Thank god, it was empty.

Ouch! Well, at least nobody was hurt. Anyway, he probably won't use a hammer for a microphone again.

I don't know what I'm gonna do, I'm in my den right now being very quiet. I guess i shouldn't let this stop me, but it will take atleast 4 months of saving to repurchase tank, unless we don't eat, then i could do it in 3 months. Usaully i would be screaming at the top of my lungs, but when i saw how bad he felt i couldn't even get mad. I guess i'm gettin soft, but anyway i got some cleanig to do.

When I was about 8 years old, I had a similar incident. We were fixing to leave the house for my first baseball game of the season and I was running around the house with my glove and bat (aluminum). I was instructed it was time to leave, so I ran through the living room waving my bat like any 8 year old would and smacked my parents brand new television - it ruined it, I got the **** beat out of me and I'll never forget it. It's funny now.

glad to hear the hammer wasn't damaged ;) you can use that to crucify him! j/k!

but serious, that's a real bummer to come home too. have you considered having the glass replaced? there is a glass shop just east of aquatek on burnett, you might consider getting a price est. just an idea.

The tank cost $450, I'm sure the glass replacement would come real close to that, better off buying new tank to get warranty. This feels like a sign to me, maybe it was telling me to slow down. I've gone from 40 cube with a couple of dansels and snails in it to a 140 since Thanksgiving, and before that the last time i touched a tank was in 1987. I just wish this sign didn't cost too much.!!BULLETIN:!! I was just told that this whole incident is my fault, if i had put the hammer anyway up higher this would not had happen. Now i'm mad

if it had not been the hammer he would had found something else to use as a microphone. maybe a sponge

No PeeJ The better half. Stuff happens, just be glad the tank didn't fall on him and hurt him really bad. Things can be replaced, people can't. Although sometime we wish they would.
