If it were me I'd go with a 10K MH bulb and make both PCs actinic. Sounds like a good setup though, and one heck of a price. Is the MH DE or mogule based bulb, if mogule I'd remove the splash lens and put light about 6-8 inches from water line.

I think this is enough light for most things. definetly for soft corals and most LPS/SPS. Probably for most anemones and clams as well (how depp is your tank?)

This particular system is finicky about what brand of bulb it can take, so research b4 you buy a different bulb.

is this deal worth it then? they guy said he used the pendant on one of his systems with a different ballast, so the original ballast it came with is still in the box i guess, and he said that the two PC's are new in the box, but he doesn't know if the MH is new or not.

If it is his light why doesn't he know if the MH is new?? If he doesn't know how old it is that means it is old and needs to be replaced.

is it not worth the price then if i need a new bulb?
