How big of a tank do you have?

if you do get an eel you have to make sure that you do not have any holes or it will eventually squeeze out and die, it only needs a very little hole to escape

I had a snowflake in my 29 gallon many years ago and he did well until he decided to starve himself to death. The eel was in with a hawkfish, clown, and wrasse. You do need to plug up any holes as said above as I did have to push him back in after finding he was half way out. I was able to feed him dried krill or small frozen shrimp from a skewer. Good luck.

Let me see if I got this right. You are going to cramp 24 damsel and chromis and a snowflake eel into a 55gal tank? I hope they are made out of plastic, cause there ain't no way they'll stay alive. The bioload will be so high it will kill them, thats if the snowflake doesn't eat them first.

rule of thumb says about 4" of fish per 10gal of water. There is also a ratio of fish per square inches of surface, but I can't find that info right now. Maybe somebody else here knows that.

I would definitely make sure to put a skimmer on the tank! That will help a little.

Misty is right, you will defintely need a skimmer. In any tank that you have messy eaters like eels, triggers, lions, etc., you are always going to want to have a skimmer due to the high dissolved organics. You are going to need some stable rock work where he can hide.
