Debo is still a baby. Just wait till she grows up! If you had a mated pair and a large enough tank, you would have quite a show on your hands. Guess what color they turn when they spawn?

Debo is a good name for him. These fish end up being petty thugs!
They get ugly as they get older losing the distinct spots - can hold his own easily with most things that won't swallow him outright though.

He'll stay fairly black, but, if he had a mate and was to spawn, the pair would turn a light power blue. They are very cool. Teh tank would have to be around 30 inches tall or more for spawning. They are VERY aggressive to other fish and will get to be at least 6 inches around. Like a grown discus. Keep an eye on your scopus. He may not be able to keep your domino in check for long. Once the domino starts picking on things, it will not lighten up and you may have death on your hands and it won't be the domino.

It's too bad, these are some of my favorite fish - all the dascyllus damsels are neat but aggressive. The color shift with age stinks too but seems to hold with 90% of the damsel species.

A deep tank is necessary because the courting ritual is vertical. Its incredable to see and so is the color. After courting, they lay about 3000 to 3500 eggs! It is an amazing ritual but it can't happen in a shallow tank. It is never horizontal.
