What is the best stuff to use to bond coral to rocks? I have some stuff now, it is red with a green center and you roll it around, but it does not bond very well. I have a large cup coral I am trying to affix to a rock so it will quit rocking so I need something I can apply underwater.

That epoxy will work but you have to play with it a bit and form it to the rock and coral at the same time ... or there is super glue gel.

Just regular Super Glue gel like you get at Home Depot? How long do you cure it?

Super Glue is reef safe? Wow. Never would have thought of that.

There's an evalustion of various brands of super glue gel on the website. Unfortunately I can't give you the exact webpage on GARF. I use the 3M stuff that you can find just about anywhere including Wal-Mart. It works good but I just wish it came in a bigger tube.
I've tried the large tubes of Sally Jo's glue from Garf. Its good stuff but unless you are a coral farmer doing a lot of fragging it usually goes bad before you can use up a tube. I can use a tube of the 3M stuff in a few minutes.

Just make sure you dont bond a sweet little innocent fish to the rock
The superglue thing really surprised me. You can't use a soap washed out bowl to acclimate a fish but you can squirt superglue in your tank?!! :?: hmmmm???

They use super glue to seal wounds. What does that tell you about its relative toxicity?
We need to get your tank problems worked out Amity. If not, where are we going to put your wedding present frags?

Gary I think you have just inspired me to get my bachelors in chemistry. Who needs psychologist when you have chemists?

Psychologists make more money! Is that inspiration enough?
On the other hand, toxic chemicals or crazy people... what a choice.

My clown fish is very aggresive when ever I get close to his anemone he nips at my hand , one day I put a newly superglued frag in the tank WHAM.... he hit it and his lips were glued shut. He started rubbing the rocks and after about 1 day it was all off.

That would be a neat name to have, but it would be Dr. Muñoz :D

Oh my gosh Barry!! That is crazy, I bet he stays away from your hand now.
That just amazes me how some clown fish are so protective of thier anemone home.

Maybe you need to send your clown to Dr. Yano.

Yea send him on over, I can discuss with him on how he needs to distribute his aggression in a socially acceptable manner and go through some simple therapy sesions to help him understand you are there to help him and not a threat to his well being ;)
