SWEET! I traded Josh my false perc not too long ago for a "mystery" black and white clown. I was at Aquatic Warehouse yesterday, and low and behold there in the snail tank was the SAME clown!!! MY super kind wife ran over there today without me knowing and got me an early christmas present. By the time I got home, they had paired together. Im not the greatest pic taker, but here you go!!! One keeps going up and shaking near the other, I sure hope that means that they wanna spawn. They are hosting in a shriveled up seabay.

Yeah, I had read it can take sometime before clowns pair. You just have to be ready to be patient and tolerant of them picking on each other or one being the dominant.

It looks like the smaller one is the new one? How are they doing today? If the smaller one is still male (looks like a younger one), then its just a matter of dominance and that will trigger the sex change to maturity for the larger one. If by some chance they are both females, then is when you can see a fight to the death in a small tank. Usually they straighten out over night and things are fine the next day.

the one suddering is showing an act of submission to the other one. if it is still a juvenile (the one shuddering), then it will probably become the male and the dominant one will become (if it isnt already) a female. it can take months for a pair to settle down and become ready to spawn (but could happen sooner). good luck!

the small one is doing the shuddering......they havent chased each other around today but arent really hanging out together either. The new one is higher up towards the top of the tank.

It can take a few days before they get things sorted out. As long as one of them isn't trying to kill the other, I think they will be fine. Just give em some time.
