i'm just about done setting up my new reef tank. it a 50gl oceanic fill with some soft corals, like muhrooms, xenias, star polyps, and colt coral. currently it is lit by powercompacts, but i am thinking about upgrading the lights to a 150whqi with pc's (just as soon as psl gets back to me on a price). i am running a cpr c-siphon overflow connnected to a cpr cyclone 192. i removed the bio-bail and replaced it with about 6lbs of live rubble.

Josh I think we're all a little bit weird but thats ok. By the way reefer your tank looks graet. I really like the dimensions. I have an Oceanic 40something cube and i wish it was just a little bit bigger. Where did you get the tank, and do you mind tellnig me how much you paid?

joshua, here's the sump pic you've been drooling to see!
oc, i too hope it gets better! especially with a more powerfull light source!
oldsalty, the green star polyp'd rock is the one i got from tim last week. it came from jason's tank! i have another rock that i seed'd about 2 months ago with a different type of star polyps, that is taking off quite nicely too! here are some lime green ricordia i got from a friend up in dallas, along with the xenia. the tank has about 13 different types of mushrooms, ranging from discosomas, rhodactis, and ricordias.
thanks!

L :-D :-D Ks great!!!
Are you going to put sps corals in the tank when you get the new lights??? also champion is havin a sale on PCs. i just bought a dual 96w retro with ballasts, lights and reflectors for 164.00 but they only have a few so if ya want one ya better hurry.
Wish my new tank had atleast sand in it !! so when you get ready to frag that rico let me know, i would love to have a lime green one to go with my orange one..
also i have a 175w MH setup for sale if your interested.its a hamilton
and comes with a bell pendant all ya need is a bulb. it would also be really easy to retro into a hood if you wanted to put PCs or VHOs with it.
how many watts are the PCs you have on it now??

robert, i worked some overtime this week, so i decided to get the combo fixture to make sure the corals and such had plenty of light. the light i ordered is coming with a 20k hqi, and i have an 65w ultra actnic bulb that just makes the corals glow bewtifully!i am also getting a teal/green ricordia from blane's stock. should look great. as far as sps's in this tank, i think i'll pass. i having issues with my 75gl. which i had to make a decission to change the sump and skimmer setup that i currently have to a cpr aquafuge pro. i'll be selling that sump and etss skimmer that's currently running on it once i get the new setup in.
once i get the courage to frag a few shrooms, i'll let you know!

i am trying to sell the sump/skimmer/and pumps as one unit. the sump is aprox. 30"x16.5"x18.5", with baffled return for the skimmer. the skimmer is a dual downdraft etss skimmer, pumps are a mag9.5 for return, and a mag 18 for the skimmer. its just to big to be effective for my tank, it would work best for a tank that is over 200gl+. i spent just over $800 for the setup, so if you like to make an offer, just send me a pm.
