if i got the 175W Universal Magnetic M57 Ballast -Metal Halide and the MH Parabolic Reflector Set w/ Mogul Base from hellolights, would this be all i need to get some lighting up and running for my 29g, of course after buying a bulb?

Possible but keep in mind that certain bulbs will only run on certain ballest. If you can, find an advaced ballest one you dont have to put gather and put in a box. One I see them as safer and two theres no difficulty in wiring. they can be mont vert or horiz. anywhere you have room. I have 2 now that are mounted behind my stand 3" from the wall and are doing great.

Ok on bulb specs it is dependant to bulb For XM bulbs American light in SA #(210) 657-5025 has advanced 1 piece ballest for $55.00 you have to talk with scott in commercial sales for this price tell him Chuck sent you, the guy's at the counter will charge you more. part#72C5581 this is a 175w ballest sealed unit no putting together.

Coralife or XM at all colors But only in 175W I run XM but its up to you. Oshio is a pulse start wich is a totally different ballest. With This advanced ballest it is enclosed and does not need another housing. Sorry Joshua but he was looking for a 175 W which is a M57.
Sorry for jacking the thread.

i can definitely wait until jan 1st, that would give me plenty of time to get the money together and to figure out what lighting i actually want to go with

I'm in a bit of a pinch for the lights, but I will wait. My canopy is finished and all I need to get it going and get rid of the PC's is the bulbs. It is only two weeks. I have made it two months, so that won't kill me. PLUS, I get to tell my wife that the lights are on NEXT years budget. :D

Thanks Josh. I might send Brittany by when they come in since she's headin back to Fort Stockton on Christmas Eve. I'll be there for about a week and a half starting tomorrow so I'm gonna try and build a canopy since I won't have anything else to do.
