How old do fish get?

I was reading an article a few weeks ago about a trunk fish (if I remember correctly) at the Sydney Aquriuam celebrating it's 65th birthday. I also remember seeing a lobster (can't remember where) that the owner claimed to be 75 years old.

So how old, in general, do fish like my powder blue, yellow eye, lemon peel, etc get?

And how old do my cleaner shrimp get?

Depends, I say 2-5 years(shrimp)

The tangs, if well taken care of, can live 10 years or more. I have a friend who kept several that long, and heard of others surviving longer.
(unfortunately, most in captivity do not live this long, due to poor shipping/handling practices by some individuals, lack of understanding/care and knoledge of essential requirements by others)

I think tangs can live 25-30 years in the wild. Not sure though.

I can't think of the author in one of the magazine's that has a powder blue, and several other tangs that are 10-15 years in his care. I think he has an achilles tang, a harlequin tusk and a pair of clowns too that are over the 10 year mark with him.

I have a couple of tangs and a gold stripe maroon clown that are at the 5 year mark with me. Thats not that much though. My copperband is right at 3 years with me.

Aquarium Sales and Service had a pair or breeding Ocellaris clowns that were 22 years old. I expect my gold stripped maroons to live for over 25 years. I think they are 23 in captivity already. Their babies I expect to have for my lifetime. Some tangs and angels are reported at over 50 years. Yano pretty much hit the shrimp and crab life time.
