okay all i want to hear from yall , which way i should go, dsb or bare bottom, hand me the cons and pros, my tank should be ready to setup on wendsday hopefully, so just wanna see what yall think, it's gonna be a sps ,coral,fish combo deal!!! hear alot of bad things about dsb on reefcentral, whats the deal?? thanks all for any input!!!

I have basically a barebottom tank. Nothing in the rear and just enough in the front to cover the glass. I have mine this with because I really do not like the looks of a DSB and it gives me alittle more room.

I have gone barebottom because I think it looks better. I have so much live rock and corals that you really dont even see the bottom of the tank anyway. With barebottom you just have to suck up any detritus when you do water changes.

The biggest advantage of a DSB is nitrate control. A lot of folks here are running refugiums and that is not a big issue for them because the macroalgae in their fuge is handling that function. The other advantage is production of planktonic food for your corals. Again, IMO the refugium is capable of handling that to some degree.
