I had one of these lying around http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?familyid=8284&sku=6048200036&tab= 3&dept_id=1043&c1=1038&c2=1043&c3=&ct1=D%E9cor&ct2 =Laser+Systems&ct3=
If I bought a few more blue LEDs would it make a good moon light or should I just make one myself? (This is a ten gallon tank)

Man you gotta stop using Petco the fish killers. Their stuff is too expensive anyway.
Markster has a sweet moonlight setup. Maybe he'll comment on here.
Personnally I would look for a blue led from someplace like radio shack and copy Marksters setup. You might have to ask him about it if he doesn't see this.

Thanks for the plug. I just made a custom canopy with a 1 X 3 brace on the back. Then took some base board, approximately 1/2 X 3, and mounted moon lights I purchased from marinelandreef.com. The boards are then screwed to the brace and the moon lights face upwards. I have two moon lights since my tank is 48 in wide and these are recommended for every two feet. The moon lights face up since I have a 10 X 48 reflector just above so the blue light can be spread better over the tank.

I made a couple of moonlights using the leds from radio shack. Total cost about $7. I haven't mounted them yet, as I still need to build my canopy.
