Has anyone ever used this lamp? I am trying to find a good solution to light a 'fuge where I really don't have the space for anything else. Just trying to find something to accelerate the algal growth.

You can find the product for sale here (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=9884&Ne=40000&R=15800&Nao= 18&N=2004+2020)

Thanks for the input.

You could try the spiral bulbs from Home depot. They have one brand (commercial electric) that are 20W 6500K. I've been running them on mine for a couple months and they are holding up great. They do need a lamp socket though, but I think the are only a couple $..

Not a bad idea. Right color spectrum at least. Thanks for the tip.

For a socket source, try the plastic clip on lamp from Wal-Mart. It should cost you about $8. Since it's a clip on, you can adjust it up and down to correspond to the tank's temperature.
