anyone know how to get my sons copperband to eat frozen, etc.
he is curently doing real well because i just tore down my 110 and have been changing out the LR in my sons tank with my LR. so he can eat all the featherdusters and such on the rock but he has burned through
30 or 4o lbs of rock already and i only have about another 100 lbs left.
I really dont want to start him on mosquito larve and have never had one before except in the store and those sold so fast i never reall y had a chance to take care of them.
any help would be great. oh im asking this because he wont touch
formula 1,2 or frozen brine or anything that i have offered him.
Thanks
Robert

Try some of that Piscine Energetics mysis, soak it in a little garlic and let him try some. Mine absolutely loves it and will literally eat out of my hand.

Garlic gets really picky fish to hit on foods!

He'll eventually need mysis too. And if you use a black mussell from the grocery store, preferrably live, he'll get all the vitamin A he needs as well. A diet of brine shrimp will not fatten him up - not enough protein or vitamins. Great fibre diet, but, thats about it. Split the mussell with a pocket knife, cut the little shell mussell in there and spread it wide open. Rinse in tap water for a second and lay it on the bottom of the tank. Leave it be for a while, he'll find it. Enjoy the show, all the fish like it. My maroons try to get in the way of the copperbands so they can have it all. Same with clams, but, yours is pretty small and the mussells shred up easier.

My copperband, that I have had almost 3 years next month is a mysis shrimp machine. It eats the brand MikeP suggested. In fact that is the only brand worth using as far as keeping a fish full IMO. Mine was about the size of a quarter when it was shipped and I freaked, but luckily it has eatten from day one and PE mysis shrimp are it's staple food. The enriched frozen brine are also eatten but they don't give as much nutrition as the mysis.
