Sorry, I don't have my camera but I tried to draw a pic. These things show up every now and then and I was just wondering if anybody knew what they were. All of em that show up have this weird shape to em.

I know that they are snail eggs. What I can't remember is what type of snail. Maybe cerith snails? I usually clean them off my front glass, but if you just leave them alone they will go away.

looks like Joshua beat me :D

Looks like Cerith snail eggs.

Ooh! I have them too, are they edible?
I have a bunch of what look baby cerith all over my sandbed. They are not attacking my clams, so hopefully they are not predatory.

Man Vinh! I know you are a starving college student, but eating snail eggs out of your fish tank is pretty bad! :-D

Yes they will survive. I fished out a couple from my overflow today. According to Garf only about 10% of the larvae survive to the adult stage. I suppose your skimmer of corals get the rest. My Nerite snails reproduce as well but they have little round, white disc shaped egg cases. Cerith snails are good "reef janitor" type snails.

Maybe we should see about getting a bulk order of snails from Garf. I've ordered from them several times over the years. You get free frags for an order over $100. I have a cool Tubipora from them. The snails work out to about $1/ea.

GARF's prices are too high for what you get. The frags are microscopic.

Is there a cheaper place to get snails?

Well, the snails are a fair price if that is all you want, but I bought some of the red zoo's off them a while back to donate to the group and the frags were embarrassing they were so small.

OK, I've never bought any frags, just the freebies that have done real well. You are correct in that they are small.

No doubt they have some nice stuff, but they also sell some pretty ordinary frags for the same prices. They have been around a long time though so they must be doing something right. I remember seeing the web page back in 1993 I think it was, and I'm sure it was around years before I discovered them.

For snails goto reeftopia.com. Several people have done group orders from them before and always had good experiences.

I got some from etropicals.com before. $60 min order will get You free shipping. That makes it a fair deal.
