View Full Version : Calcium Reactor suggestions needed...

My hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas...Besides show pieces of SPS, which he would have no clue how to choose a healthy one, I think I have just about narrowed the choices down.

I have recently gotten tired of doing the kalkwasser drip thing. So my first choice is a calcium reactor. I need suggestions on brand, size, etc. I have no clue how these things work either. I know you put media in and need a CO2 bottle but that's about it. How easy are they to 'dial in' and how do you do it? Any suggestions on brand???

My next choice would be cash for an SPS shopping spree

Thanks!

Tanks specs:
75g Oceanic
2-400w Blueline MH
4"DSB
80-90 lbs LR
25g sump
Euroreef skimmer
presently a moderately light Ca bioload...

Hi Cindy,
Do you have a picture of my, I meant your 75 Gallons Oceanic Cherry Aquarium?

I think JimN have a dual model Myreef Calcium Reactor for sale.

No Vinh, I don't have a picture. I'll take one and post it sometime...I ended up getting a cherry Oceanic stand to match the tank. No hood. I run an open top with the MH hanging above the tank. I actually like it better that way. Less heat build-up!
