I was told that there is a Gold striped maroon clown fish that has blue stripes instead of white. Is there such a fish? If so, where can I locate one of these?

Thanks

ok let me tell you, if your looking for a complete blue stripe maroon there are none, iv'e seen them with a tint of bluestripe under good lighting, but as far as blue blue, never in the 5 years in this hobby have i seen 1! 30gal. for maroons , i think thats gonna be to small of a tank, there gonna freak out in ther, and belive me these mamas grow big!!

I thought the blue striped thing sounded a little far fetced. You think that the 30 gallon tank is too small for two gold striped maroon clowns?

hey sorry to bust your bubble but, maybe some babys will do good for a while, like i said these grow big and fast too, trust me ive been there done that!! also you might only beable to keep those two fish and no other as they are very aggresive toward any other fish, and some inverts as well. just my 2 cents!

I think you could keep them in your thirty for a while. They are pretty aggressive though. Their max size is 5-6 inches so eventually i would plan on upgrading uless you just want those 2 clowns. Maybe you could add a couple of small fish first like a yellow coris wrasse and a a goby and then add your pair of maroons. just my 2 cents. :D

That is not a maroon clown. There are other clowns that have blue tinted strip, but not maroon clowns.

I breed Goldstripped Maroon Clowns. They keep an eye on their lair, but, other than that they are quite nice to other fish. Most fish will guard their lairs. The trouble is their range is about what you have in a 29 or 30 gal tank. The whole thing is their lair. I have two, not paired, in a 6 foot long reef with butterflies and small fish. The maroons keep a watch over their own little caves and not much more. Not a problem at all for the other fish or inverts, even at feeding time.
