It's time to show off those tanks!

There will be an informal "Tank Tour" in the Austin area on Sunday, November 2nd during the hours before and after the MAAST meeting at Jim Norris' house in Round Rock.

If you're in the Austin area and would like to open your home to visitors on November 2nd, please RESPOND TO THIS POST, or send a PM to me or to Jim Norris. We'll need a (very brief) description of your tank(s), address and direction information and contact information. If you've got a small tank photo, we'll try to incorporate it into the information for the tour.

As we'd mentioned in earlier posts, we'll be looking for volunteers in North Austin/Round Rock/Cedar Park for the MORNING hours of November 2nd, and volunteers from South Austin for LATE AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING (after the MAAST meeting adjourns).

Feel free to call or send a PM to me or to Jim Norris with any questions regarding the tour. I can be reached at home at 733-5677, or at work during the day at 419-9292.

Thanks!

For those that are going to do the tank tour, please be sure to be at Jim's by the posted start time for the meeting. This is a very important meeting as it is for election of club officers. We need people to be there on time so everything can get done in a timely fashion and so everyone can have time to enjoy Jim's awesome tank.

Thanks!

I'll do it if anyone wants to see my little 75 gallon nano corner tank. I do have the corals running outside and a good sized pond out back also if anyone is interested.

That's excellent news! Can you tell me a little bit about how the Houston tours are being organized? A PM or call would be great. PM me with your number if you don't mind!

As of today we've only got two tanks for the tour (not counting Jim Norris' beauty). If we don't get at least six or eight more, we might as well cancel or postpone the event for the time being....so step on up! We'll need to make a decision one way or another by this time next week.

The best person to talk about the tours it with Brad Brookner, our Treasurer, he is the one organizing this for the club.

C'mon Austin folks....if you want to do a little tank tour, it's time to step up and be a volunteer! It's the 14th now, and we'll need at LEAST a few days to get directions and information out to everyone before November 2nd. I figure that if we don't have enough volunteers (we've only got three as if this morning) by the end of the week, we'll have to cancel and try again at another time. If you're in Austin, and you don't mind opening up your house to guests for a short time on the 2nd, let's hear from you!

All,

I live in Cedar Park also and at this time I am 95% sure that I could open my house up to the tour. Heck maybe I could get some good pointers out of it, and then everyone could pitch in to help me finish painting the outside of my house :-D .

Unless we get 4-6 more volunteers within the next 24-48 hours, we'll have to end up scraping the plans for the informal tank tour on November 2nd. As of now, we've only heard from five volunteers. :?

SOOOOO.....last chance for November 2nd. If you're in the Austin/Round Rock/Cedar Park area, and you wouldn't mind having folks come check out your set-ups, PLEASE respond. Otherwise, we'll just have to do it another time.

Thanks!

What about going to some aquarium stores around town. This could help fill the time.

Well, based on some last minute volunteers, and some good feedback, we've opted to go ahead and have a small informal tank tour on Sunday morning prior to the MAAS meeting at Jim Norris' house.

It looks like there will be six tanks included in the tour. I'm putting together a little online brouchure, which will include links to Yahoo Maps for driving directions, tank photos and descriptions, etc... I hope to have this completed by Sunday night, so everyone will have as much time as possible to make plans to stop by and see some nice setups.

As everyone knows by now, the MAAST meeting at Jim Norris' house starts at 2:30, so we've asked the tour hosts to open their homes in the MORNING only. The tour will end by 1:30 to give everyone plenty of time to get to Jim's for this very important meeting.

Look for more posts on this topic with information about the tour.

I am hosting a brochure/information site that rwilliams26 made and gave me. If you have any questions or problems, they're not my fault :P

Would it be possible to post times for each home that will be visted? Or It would be nice if we started somewhere as a group so that the people that are hosting would have the opportunity to also be able to get out and see members tanks...
