That stinks Josh! I guess just be thankful you're around to flood the house after such a horrible accident. Just throw some sand on the floor and pretend you are at the beach! LOL

I (knocking on wood) haven't had a flood yet due to my fish tanks. I have spilled splenty of saltwater on the carpet though! I have set up an auto topoff but only putting a 5gallon bucket of water for the reservoir for now. Too scared to hook it up straight to the RO/DI unit!

I flooded the entire aquatics section at petco like three times. It took four people over an hour to clean up the messes I made and thats with working shop vacs. i've flooded my house a couple of times, too. I guess I should stop drinking while I work on my fish tank.

I've flooded the kitchen once and I flooded the carpet once in the hallway. I hope there isn't a third one otherwise I'd have to put tile down or something.

That's the reason I got rid of the carpet (same color as Misti's!) and put down tile BEFORE I setup the tank. The lsst thing I wanted to do is have to move this thing for them to lay the tile...

I should have tiled my living room before I put my big tank in there - oh well. On thursday afternoon right before work I was fiddling with the tank and managed somehow to clog the drain on my refugium to my sump. It oerflowed about a gallon before I ran and turned the feed pump off - figuredout what I thought happened, got all the water up and turn it on - everything looks find and I did it again! lol . Well I have it working now but will be making some kind of backup standpipe in the event of it happening again.

Well, happened to me today. Flooded my apt :? My stupid RODI sprung a leak. Weird thing is that is wasn't the plumbing that messed up, it was one of the RO canisters that started leaking all of the sudden. :x

Does anyone have one of those tools used to tighten a filter for a RO unit that I could borrow? Only need it for a couple min to get em all tightened up good.

Manny, I used a Strap wrench, since I lost my wrench that came in the kit. Or a quick fix, use your belt and tie it around the canister for grip and start turning. Also did you check the gasket, was it damaged or kinked. That would also cause a leak regardless of how tight it is.

Manny If that doesn't work, I think I may be right down the road from you if you need the strap wrench thing. I live right at fred & wurzbach. Let me know, as I will be out and about.

Thanks for the offer Henry. I think I got it tightened on there pretty good now though. I'll connect it up later and if it's still not tightened enough I'll give you a call. Good to know I got a neighbor on here. I'm here on Fredericksburg between Huebner and Wurzbach.

Flooded the kitchen twice.... :o Huge Mess... Since then I learned from my mistakes and reloacted the RO unit to the garage and built a float switch that sits in a 40 gal trash can.... no problems since

We've done a lot of moving in the last couple of years and I can say from experience that tile floors are the best thing since sliced bread for a reefkeeper. My wifew says thge only trick is that you have to move faster to keep the water from running under the furniture. Now all I have to worry about is mold growing in the grout. Mr. Clorox should take care of that. I think that someone hasn't had at least a few minor spills has never done a water change.
