It may not open up tonight but what you'll do is try to "tempt" it to open up by squirting a little frozen food towards it. Eventually you'll get him to open up around the same time every night (or day if you train him properly) Once his polyps are fully extended you can squirt some frozen food at EACH polyp. You should try to feed him at least three times a week or more if possible. If you have any more questions feel free to post.

20g, sun corals grow on the roofs of caves in the wild. They don't use light and require food to survive. Each head must eat as if it was a separate little anemone. I have found if you squirt some of the liquid from frozen brine shrimp, after it thaws, on them they will usually open up in 5-10 minutes. This will probably work with most foods. Then just spray the brine on each head.

I got a Tubastreae at the July Maast Mtg. I cut the top off of a one litre pop bottle and put it over the top of the coral every night just after lights out. I squirted a little mysis shrimp into the chamber with a turkey baster and left it like that for about half an hour.

No action for about 2 weeks. Then it started opening up. After about three weeks it was opening completely. It's doing great. Two new polyps.

I put mine near the top of the tank to make it easier to feed. It won't open with even the room lights on.

I wish my elegance coral was doing so good...
