After finally upgrading my lights this is what I have and my question. 2 Iwasaki 6500 250W supplemented with 220 VHO actinic. The lights look really good together over my 75 but one seems to put off a whiter light than the other. One of the ballast (both are H37) doesn not have a capacitor in line while the other does. The ballast without capacitor seems to put out a whiter light.
Any ideas?

Well, I just swapped the bulbs out from one side to the other and it appears a difference in the bulbs color output.
Strange since they are both 6500 eye bulbs.

It was a good idea to swap the bulbs. It is strange that the ballast does not have a cap on it. Are the bulbs brand new? If so, metal halide bulbs usually have a burn in period before they reach their final color. Hopefully they will balance out after awhile, but I think withIwasaki bulbs there can sometimes be a difference in color.

I agree with the nipple positioning...I have personally seen the difference, using the same bulb.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean about nipple position? I may currently have the same problem but never thought about this.

Both nipples are pointed downward. Should they be up instead?
