Hello fellow reefers!
I just purchased a Geo calcium Reactor, Milwaukee regulator and ph controller. All I need to get it up and running is a Co2 Tank. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new or used one in San Antonio. I also need somewhere that will fill it up for me. I have been looking on ebay, but they want $20 just for shipping. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I were to buy a used bottle from a store, I would probalby try to rent instead of buying. For less chance of contamination, I would just get a brand new silver aluminum bottle. How accurate is your Milwaukee pH controller? Down to .00 or just down to .0 ?

I would prefer to buy a new one. It only measures by tenths. .0

There's a place just off of I10 on culebra that sells and fills bottles. That's where I got mine. It's okay. Maybe Vinh still has that 20 lb bottle? If so, you should consider that, although I think he would have mentioned it in his post. When you get it filled, ask for "beverage grade" CO2, supposedly it's purer. I think I paid something like $70 for a 5 lb bottle filled.

Yeah Joshua, I sold you a 10 pounds bottle. I sold off my 20 pounds bottle already. Turn out, it was too crampy under my stand for a 20# bottle. For a controller, don't you think you would want something that will go down to the hundreths?

I don't think it will make that much of a difference. I will set it to keep the ph between 6.6 - 6.8. So, the hundreths should not make a difference.

Yes, I bought the bottle from them. It was not new; just repainted and fitted with a new valve. Then I brought it back because the valve sprung a leak, and they put a new one on, no charge. But then, this guy starts banging away at the bottle with a hammer, saying some B.S. about how he had to destroy some marking on the bottle or it was illegal to fill it. Jeesh, I bought the thing from them with the clear intention of refilling it, you'd think they would have told me something about that before banging away, chipping off the paint. These bottle are not aluminum and rust immediately without paint on them. Probably the new aluminum are worth the extra money in the long run, but I understand about the shipping costs.

For the North side, I get mine refilled at Praxair off Nacogdoches near Wurzbach Parkway. I used to drive over to Natwell but this is closer for me and the same cost. You can get a 10LB bottle there for about 70 bucks.
