Hi all,
I just have one question. Can turbo snails heal or regenerate themselves? The reason I ask is because after acclimating the snails I noticed one had some how cut off a piece of itself. It must have happened during the drive home from the LFS. I don't know which one it was but I do know that one snail is extremely active for a snail and the other moves extremely slowly. It'll stay in one spot on the acrilyc wall for hours. It does move around but I was hoping it would have healed by now(it's been 5 days) so it could mow do the Alge like the other one. All replies welcome.

Have you tried speaking to it in Spanish? Maybe singing a little cancion? It could just be in culture shock, rather than the usual salinity shock.
sorry, you said all replies welcome

i think that's pretty normal...out of my 30 snails...only about 10% are very active.

True I did Matt. Ok RSC so they are not all active then. So then of the 2 Turbo's I have one is a dud. Oh well I can't win them all.

That isn't bad. I usually add 15-20 every 6 months to my corner tank. They just die off from whatever reason... Hermits like to kill them.

Those Darn Hermits, they ate almost all my snails then the Nassaurius started helping out aswell.

I hardly ever see my turbos moving...I'll look at my tank later & their isomewhere different...lol...like Tim said...I have to add another dozen or so every 4-6 months cause either the hermits want their shells or I rhink I may have a pistol shrimp. I hear a couple of clicking sounds when lights out. Still haven't been able to see anything.
And those Nassaurius snails move big time. They are constantly working thru the sand & surfacing.

I think snails are sensitive to temperature. I used to loose snails often until I got a chiller. The temperature is always at 77 now. I have had the chiller for about 4 months. I have noticed any dead snail. Before the chiller, the temperature was always at least 80, and sometime it went up to 83. Every time the temperature went up about 82, I would have some dead snails few days after.
