Anybody been there? I was up visiting my parents this weekend and needed a supply, so my dad and I ventured out. This was the nicest saltwater aquarium store I have ever seen. I think 5 different people asked if they could help me within the first 5 minutes I was there......
Well, that is about all the good I have to say about them because their prices were higher than I have ever seen in the hobby. They were selling a little twig of Xenia fo $39.99. A medium size chunk of Colt coral was $69.99 !!!! They had some nice fish, but they were through the roof also. Needless to say, I didn'y buy the calcium suppliment I needed.
Worth the visit to LOOK and NOT TO BUY. I guess there are plenty of people in Dallas who don't know any better and are willing to pay 10 times as much as they should because the place was packed. Anyways, my .02.

Jenn, the DAS is worth the price, but it sounds like you didn't get the whole set-up. They come with a furniture quality solid oak stand, canopy, and everything you need. They are usually a plug and play tank. It sounds like you only got the tank? Is that correct?

You're right, tank only. It seems to have a built in canopy/filter system, but thats all. It was placed into the wall of the home I bought it from, and I am trying to find a connection for the stand. I have found a few, but all in excess of $500. :-o I think I will take a woodworking class myself!

Its a really nice store, and a really high priced one too! Definitely worth checking out. Though, if you're in Dallas and want something really cool to check out, go to the Dallas World Aquarium. It has a rainforest upstairs, with monkeys in the trees, and all kinds of cool animals. And, in the bottom, there are ~10 2000 gallon saltwater reef aquariums (one from the different oceans/areas with the local corals/fish in each), a like 10000 gallon walk through tank with triggers, tangs and such in it. and a probably 5000 at least tank with predators and 2 6' green morays. Definitely worth checking out, some beautiful stuff to see and its like 12 bucks a head. If you want any more info, let me know. I can probably post some pics later if you want.
