well i recently had a group order for rose anemones, well today they came in thanks to all the ppl that got in (me,sherri, fuzz, phage), well let me tell you they are really really awsome, im very pleased with this alvin guy, the tips are all swollen up, although my true perc doesn't seem interested as i speak, they were big about 4-5 inches in diameter, and there color is wicked, red foot with bright red tips, and some metallic green as well!! so if you want a rose i recommend you buy from alvin on ebay, great communication and awsome shipping as well, hope this helps yall get great roses, just thought i would let yall know!! and again thanks guys for sticking in ther on the order!!happy camper:)

Hey oceancube....my rose BTA is settled in and very pretty. Looks very healthy...base looks almost neon green - tips are almost a rose/peach color...Tips very bubbled. Prob will even look better tomorrow after adjusting.

Alvin has a good reputation and I see why...nice quality specimen.
Thanks oceancube for ordering for us & Alex for floating him till I got off work today. Now I'll keep my fingers crossed that my blk/wht clowns host him, as they are hanging real close to my torch coral as I speak.

Mine attached immediately...In fact, I had to pry him off the bag. I couldn't have moved him if I wanted once I set him in the tank. He has moved a bit behind a rock - just hope he comes fully back out tomorrow when lights on.....before lights out, I did notice his base was a rose red color.

I'll post a pic also once he settles in...

I bought one from Alvin about 10 day ago. The rose anemone looked great when it was arrived. It opened up as soon as I put it into my tank. After 2 days, I fed it a little frozen fish. It took it. However it looked very bad the next whole day. It became very small and there was a big hole in the middle of it. It looked almost dead. I thought I killed it. Then, it was fine the next day. 2 days ago, I gave it some formula one Pellet. It took it. Again the next day, it shrunk again for half day or so, but it wasn't as bad as the first time. Then, it went back to normal.

So, don't be surprised if yours look bad after feeding.

I asked Alvin what he feeds them and what temperature he keeps them in. He told me, "the temperature is not the culprit as my tank does not have a skimmer and fluctuates anywhere from 78 to 88 degrees throughout summer. they do deflate/inflate themselves daily so that is normal. my lighting is 175W 10,000K MH and i feed it a whole cube of Formula 1 food weekly."

Thanks for the info Stephanie...I would prob have panicked! I bought some frozen silversides to feed it, but will go & get some Formula One cubes to have some variety also.

I got up this AM & took a look at my tank (of course!) and its' kinda half way back behind a rock. Hope it does come fully back out.

My rose looks awesome as well. Unfortunitly he decided ne liked the glass more than the rock I put in for him. Rudy, thanks again for setting this all up. I will post tank pictures soon.

Frozen silverside was what I fed it the first time. Since Alvin has been giving it Formula One, it might not be used to other kind of food. It didn't die from my frozen silverside, so it might be fine. However, I would feed it formula one until it is doing well in the tank before I will try to feed it other food.

Since it arrived, it had been moving all over until 2 days ago. It might have found a spot between the rocks. It hasn't moved the last 2 days. It gets out the day time, and hides when it is dark.

I snapped a few quick pics, and here they are. Excuse the ridiculous size of them, but I haven't had a chance to edit them to a normal size yet! :)

**edit**

I resized them down to 800x600, so they should be actually viewable now

Hey guys...my Rose was huge today. It has stayed where I originally set it - mid tank front & center. Its' base was up about 4" and the top was about 5" across. This evening just before lights out....it shrunk down to what it looked like the day we got them in its bag. Whoa! One minute it is huge & 5 minutes later - poof. I flashed it tonight & apparently it kinda faces into the rocks at night & comes out fully during the day. It was pretty much bubbled back out tonight when I flashed it.

I have both Formula I pellets & frozen silversides...prob will feed mainly Formula I & try some silverside from time to time - wasn't aware that Alvin used Formula I pellets when raising them. Good to know what they are used to.

Phage & fuzz...glad to hear yours are doing well also. Nice pics phage...will post one hopefully tomorrow.

Thanks for the info Stephanie... :D

Good to hear yours doing fine.

Alvin told me he used "whole cube of Formula 1 food weekly". I think he is using Forzen formula 1. Since I don't have any forzen formula 1, I feed it with Formula I pellets. It shurk after feeding but it is fine.

Yesterday, it got some brine shimp form my feeding the fish. It looks fine today.

The bag I have the silversides are about 2 inches long. I cut them in half and feed twice aweek to the one pictured. My other rose is still in the back of the tank.

Hmmm...didn't know that...I bought frozen...they seem pretty small & I bought Formula I pellets...and their small also...just didn't know how much to feed him at each feeding. He loved the silverside I gave him.

Here is another pic. He loves his spot - front & center. He hasn't moved since I got him a week ago.

GREAT pictures! Roses are really something! Sherri the silversides I have are thin? Has your black clowns shown any interest in the rose? My two have wondered over to Scar?

No Jim...they haven't. In fact - they hosted nothing up till the day BEFORE I got the Rose - they hosted a torch coral of all things. It's on the right side of the tank & the Rose is dead center of the tank. And my regal tang that THINKS he's a clown....it's driving him crazy that he can't join his buddies in the torch. He stays so close to them & it's funny to watch him when they move near the torch. He's like "frustrated". Will let you know if they do tho.

Yeah...on the silversides...I was just trying to be certain that I don't either underfeed or overfeed...This is my first anemone. :D

Stephanie - Beautiful color on your Rose... :D

Great pictures! I just moved this weekend but I will post some pictures of mine (pre move)when I find my camera. Unfortunitly, after the move, mine decided it liked the overflow more then the rock it was on. I am currently trying to coax it out twith a powerhead. Wish me luck.

Hello Minh! We got one each among 4 people for a total of $77.50 ea (which included freight) - not bad at all. Very healthy specimens and tank raised. Sounds like Greg thinks his may be dividing...I know Jim Norris had his split which Vinh now has.

Good to see you back on site. Hope all is going well with "rebuilding" all that was lost. I'm still looking for "Orchid dottybacks!" :D
