Well....I was having dinner tonight with my family, and my brother in law was looking in the tank. As I was biting into my general tso's chicken, I hear this yell saying...What is That? I go over to the tank, and I see this neon green thing on the back wall of my tank. I notice what it is, and immediately grab the net. Needless to say he stood still long enough for me to catch him, and now I have him in a tupperware container. If someone wants him I need to know quickly. I have a porcelain shuttle for him that will be boarding shortly. Let me know something, as I will not be providing this guy with the best of homes. He does look really sweet though.

Don't pass him on! Flush him quick! LOL They are actually pretty cool critters if you keep them separate from all other life. Don't try putting it in the fuge it may end up back in the main tank. I am so glad you caught him I had been trying for about a year and gave up. He was well fed on snails and small fish though. Curious? How big was it? Last time I saw it he was close to 2 inch.

Your lucky you caught it so easily. I've got one that is very tricky, first saw it 2 mos ago still no luck trapping it they are very smart. It would make a good specimen tank. Check out the web search "mantis shrimp" lots of info.

Well, I don't think I will be going to great lengths to get this guy a home, but if you want him, I live in South Austin. Thanks for telling me he was in the tank tim....Wait, you did tell me he was in there.

Well late breaking news....I found another one in there! This one is probably a third of the size of the other one, and is sort of a blackish color. I can't catch this one, he kind of just took off on me. I will be on the lookout though. Only a little while left before liftoff for the guy, so if someone can come get it...he's here.

MikeP can have it. Mike loves that type of stuff. I do have a tank with a scorpion fish in it that he can live in if Mike changes his mind. Mike, go ahead you have first dibs.

I'll tell you what Mike...I will hold him in the tupperware he's in til tomorrow if you will come down and get him. I don't have an aerator pump, and I have to be in court in the morning. I won't be home until about 11 am. I have to work tomorrow night, so I will be sleeping during the day. If you tell me you will come by to get him, and tell me what time, then I will see if it is feasible for me to hold him for you. I will be glad to give him to you, when you arrive.

Johnny - I work 4pm - 12am tomorrow. I can come by in the afternoon if that works for you but sounds like you sleep during the day. Normally I coudl take an hour off but my co-worker for that shift is on vacation. Lemme know I'll work with you.

Mantis shrimp are annoying but you can't help but admire such a crafty animal.

Thanks to Jonny for saving the lil green guy and letting me see his awesome tank. He has about the coolest frogspawn I've ever seen with mixed pink and green tentacles.
