Water Lice Lookin things

Recently I noticed a whole lot of lice lookin things in my tank that are all over the glass and even swimmin around. What are they? A guy at the LFS told me that they probly came from my live rock or live sand and that my fish will eat em. He said there was nothin wrong with my tank and were actually an indicator that I was doin somethin good. This true or do I need to get rid of em?

I'd had copepod "attacks" every time I add new live rock.

It's neat seeing all the new critters that pop out each time.

Some fish eat them, so they are a good sign.

Mandarins.......I flashlit my tank about 2 o'clock am & copepods were working...had just added a male green mandarin for my female and was wondering if I had enough for both. Apparently no prob...

mandarins are interesting fish.

I'll need about a million more pounds of live rock to keep one...

I recently picked up a mandarin to go temp in my nano. there are a ton of pods in there. I felt really sorry for him. He had been at texas tropical for two weeks with nothing to eat, so I had to bring him home, no he is nice and fat.

Yeah Henry...I sorta did the same thing...Tx Trp had just gotten in a shipment.....still in the bags...and it was a male.....so...........he's in copepod heaven...very out in the open & sleeps at the front of the tank. I could just reach in & scoop him up...Not afraid of me at all...of course, it seems like my hands are forever in the tank doing something...he pays me no mind. Female still rules the roost tho.

oh no manny, those lice looking things can kill all your fish and corals, omg i cant belive you put them in there,nooo, lol na im just kidding, those little critters are a good thing, i had about 700 thousand, till i added my sixline and flame angel, now i only see them at night when i turn on the atinic's, anyway how's your new fish doing, especially the large serpent, well i think our second half order will be here on tuesday, ill be there in the morning at alex's work. take it easy dude! :-D

The serpent star's freakin huge man!!! I'd say like a foot, at least. The snails are snails of course. Just move around..really slow... except the ceriths, they're kinda cool, they dig themselves into the sand. I pulled one out from under the sand thinkin he was buried from when i did a water change but he dug himself right back in. The cucumber's pretty cool. Didn't see him at all today, though. Hope he doesn't starve since he's so friggin big :shock: How's the burnt lookin clown doin?

well the burnt nemo is doing good, im gonna have to sell him and the flame angel, my sixline is to darn aggressive, picks on them all day, anyways i hear your having an ich problem, what did you add that you noticed it, i hope that doesn't happen to my tank, it can be a pain getting rid of it, but then again sometimes it takes care of it self, well take care and talk to you soon!!!! oh dont add more fish for about 3 weeks, that way the ich might die with no host!!!!!

yeah, I got it from one of the first damsels that I ever put in. He had it really bad getting spots all over him. Wouldn't really have cared that much if he wasn't my first fish. The freakin medicine costed more than he did. :x Oh well, might as well get rid of it now so it doens't screw things up later on, right

Update on the cucumber. Found him dead today with organs expelled :( . (I think) Didn't seem to hurt anything in the tank though. Did a water change just in case. Tested water and everything came out ok. Not sure exactly of what happened to him. Probly the stress of bein shipped and what not.
