Simply put, what does frag mean?

Fragment. In this hobby, a small piece of a larger coral that will (with care, time, and a little luck) grow into a larger coral.

As in 'fragment'. Corals can reproduce by asexual means - i.e. fragmentation. Storms, rockfalls, even some fish/inverts may trigger this in the wild for the coral to come loose from the mother colony as a fragment to grow elsewhere. We just replicate this in the reef hobby by 'fragging' corals and the end result - the mini corals we cut to form new stock are 'frags'.

So Joshua....do you like to frag? I have been hooked on this game for about 3 years now....Counter-Strike! Great game ....you should look into it if you haven't already. Oh ya and fraggin corals is also great fun.

I am a compulsive fragger - I started with networked 'Doom' on token ring cards running IPX - moved up to heretic, quake, duke nukem, half life , counterstrike, tribes, DoD, quake 3, rtcw , BF1942 and now ET.

CS is ok but it attracts too many cheaters and just all around immature people. Try Enemy Territory for an awesome team based game centered on a WWII theme - best of all it's FREE!!! I usually play on the ND80 servers if you ever want to give it a try I'll show you the ropes.

Thanx for the info. I appreciate the warm welcome here. It'll be awhile before I can frag safely. My brother and I just started the tank about 3 weeks ago. It'll probably be a month before we get 2 clowns( even with the Live Rock already there. Then maybe 2 weeks to a month after that before we get 2 BTA's one per clown. I missed the last meeting in Austin. Anyone know when MAAST might come back here?
As far as fragging is concerened I loved playing Q3 and can't wait to try HL2 when it comes out.
