What is the holy hell is this, some one sent it to me asking what it was and it left me shocked and somewhat disturbed

My first thought it is a wolfeel. Where was it taken from? Can you get a picture of the teeth? How long has it been out of water?

haha, it was sent via e-mail by a buddy of mine, said he was surfing the net and came across it and wondered what the hell it was and seeing as how i own fish and what not he figured hed ask me

That isn't a wolf eel... body is too short and not slender like a wof eel's should be. The fins aren't in the right position either. The head is the wrong shap and the eyes aren't in the correct area. Give me time, I will figure it out...

My guess is, an overweight imbred catfish with down syndrome thats been skinned.... :-D

Looks like something in the toadfish family - too small to be a goosefish but their skin will slough off pretty fast (if you have ever been in a resturant and had 'monkfish' it comes from a similar looking fish). If I remember tomorrow I'll look at it get it down to the genus at least.
