Does anyone know if antiboitics will hurt either Xenia or green polups? I have an infrction on one of my seahourses that needs to be treated. Other tanks inhabitants are pistos shrimp, goby, firefish and small foxface. I only want to use about a half dose but need to know if it will hurt anything.

I would not use any type of medications with Xenias because they are well known to die cause of it. I have Xenias and almost lost them when added too much of a Coralline Booster. In my opinion you should remove the sea horse and treat him by him/herself because you will be able to use stronger and better medications by doing this.

If you don't use full strength you probably won't take care of the problem. Can you move it to a small hospital tank?

They seem to only want to eat the live food in the tank, removing the seahorse would be difficult.

You are feeding them ghost shrimp right? Why don't you just get a small tank and do a water change so you can use some of the old water to set up a new tank. Take one piece of rock, an air pump, and airstone and you have a hospital tank for a week. Even a rubbermade tub will work. Seahorses won't survive for very long living off whatever is living in the tank unless you constantly feed live brine or ghost shrimp. It takes some time, but you can train them to eat frozen mysid.
