You can have the coralline grow on the other rocks by scrapping the purple rock inside your tank. Also you can use some coralline boosters if you want more to grow on the other rocks.

I tought you said that you had this tank for 1 year and by seeing that only one or two rocks had coralline I suggested the above.

Dose routinely with kalkwasser and you will have an explosive coralline growth. It should also help with the hair algea BEFORE it becomes a problem. Clean it off the back glass also. The limestone should color up nice as well as the glass in a short period of time with the kalk. If your in Cedar Park give me a call and I'll give you a couple frags to get you going.

I've always had good results with kalk (dripped slowly), but have heard good things about b-ionic. I beleive Jim Norris is useing b-ionic still so it must be good! Jim has the nicest aquarium in Austin that I have seen. IMO

You can still have a couple small frags when you are up this way if you want.

We are a club! Buy, sell, trade, and help fellow reefers is what we do best! I'm hoping for a tour of tanks someday, like the tour of homes....

Tim,
I was thinking about a tour of tanks also, just never really thought it would go over well with half of our group in Austin and half in SA. I read a post on RC about some guys doing a multi city LFS tour, and started thinking about the tank tour, so maybe it could happen.

I think the tour of homes would be a great idea. We could always split the tour. One month in Austin the next in San Antonio. Something to do after the meetings. Great idea.

That is what I was thinking. Maybe start on the opposite side of town from the meeting site and pick up our home volunteers along the way so we all end up at the meeting at the same time. I know Jim D's tank would be a don't miss on the way up here to Austin Aquarium if he would allow it. I keep forgetting how rich Jim D's tank is in color and life! I suppose Jim's just have the reefer touch.

Does your lettuce nudi eat the hair algae, I'm having a problem with hair algae and get conflicting reports to if they eat it or not.

I do have to say all the calupera is gone :) I got a rabbitfish who cleared that right up. Hope you can see clear enough, if not, I'll post another one later.

let me tell you this, the lettuce has been on there for days, the red leg hermit clings to it and eats, so does my lawnmower blenny AND my emerald crab. The algae is getting smaller by the day.

We could do it on a Friday or Saturday evening and turn it into a club crawl! A few drinks, some horse dovers (yeah....I know it's wrong), and the next thing you know we'll be waking up with a strange tank in our house
Seriously, Tim...if we can set this up, I think it would be one of the highlights of the year!
