I lost most of my macros and would like to add some more. Anybody have some overgrowth they are willing to give away?

Derek, I can give you a few different red and green macros - if you are coming to the club meeting on the 24th I plan on being there.

Is it going to be in SA? What kinds of macros are they (specifically)?

The meeting is going to be at Austin Aquariums.
As for species I have, Chaetomorpha, Caulerpa peltata, Caulerpa racemosa, Halimeda (couple of species), Sawblade caulerpa, Red Gracilaria, Red kelp, Ulva, and a couple kinds of red bubble algae. If I can get organized I am going to try culturing some of the oddball species for the hell of it - right now they are all just hanging out in various tanks.

Are those safe to grow? Last I saw, it stain up the aquarium wall with red dye. Some of those red stuff are pretty hard to get rid of too. Kind of like green bubble algae.

What kind? Are they safe? Come on guys Mike is offering them for free. A simple thank you, or no thank you is in order.
I'll take a frag of all the reds if you can spare them. THANK YOU.

Get over myself..... I thought you were asking for hand outs....? I know Vihn wasn't being rude, I have been friends with him for years. I'm just saying, I would say yes or no. I have some grape and saw blade you can have if you come to the meeting.

I was just trying to seek more information. The last batch of red bubble algae I experience with was hard to get rid off. I tried to clean the tank/skimmer/overflow for two days and I still couldn't get the red color off of the skimmer/overflow. This is after soaking the skimmer/overflow overnight in vinegar. Just trying to help someone avoid the same trouble. I was asking for more info since I'm sure there are many different kind of red algae available. I bleached the skimmer/overflow in the sun, so hopefully that will kill all th spores. As for saying yes or no. I know what you're talking about. Peoples keep offering me cookie at work. I don't really like to eat cookie, or anything sweat, but my home economic teacher in middle school taught me not to say no. Hard to make a choice.

Good point Vinh! Knowing Mike as I do though, he is very careful about what he puts in his tanks and does a lot of research before hand! I am positive he would not give you anything he felt was going to be a problem.
P.S. Take all the cookies and bring them to the meeting! We'll eat them lol.......

Mike, save a couple pieces of each so we can grow them out in the greenhouse for future give aways or to help raise money for the club. I have to get those tanks moved out pretty soon. I'm going to available Wed. morning and Thurs. until about 4pm if you want to help move on one of those days.
