Broken Little Giant pump broken

I have a little giant pumt that sucked up a net for charcole. I pulled it apart to get the net out (only dropping a couple of pieces). When i put it back together it would not run. Pulled it apart again and found it would turn if you "flicked" the impellor but not on its own. I checked the surfaces and the all seemed fine. I dont konw if i put it back together wrong or if it is just broken.
