Chillers do produce HEAT! You have to have a area that will allow the chiller to bring in fresh air and exhaust the hot air! I do have a share drop in 1/3 horse chiller with a Medusa heater/chiller controller. This unit works great! I will sell it if interested for $400.00.
Also I can get Fritz chillers which IMO are the best on the market but very $$$. A new 1/3 hose flow thru runs approx $1,500.00! I can sometimes get rebuilt ones for way less!

I have a very easy solution for your problem. I write all my forum responses in MS Word (replace with your favorite word processor). This does a few things:

Allows me to save a copy (in my copy/paste buffer) for just the occasion you have mentioned.
Allows me to save a copy of my posts on my computer.
Allows me to print out what I have typed if I need to.
Allows me to check my spelling and grammar.
Creates a delay in my posting, which allows me the opportunity to think through my response to make sure it is as accurate as possible.

You simply use the copy and paste function in your word processor and browser to copy the text out of one, into the other.

Just my .02 cents.

Josh and R -

I was on Ebay and found a guy selling 1/4hp Via Aqua flow-through chillers with built in digital controllors for $299. He has like 18 of them, must have fallen off of a truck somewhere! :-D I don't know how good the brand is, but that is cheap for that size chiller.

I would love to have a chiller, but I can't justify the expense or find a way to exhaust the heat from the exchanger. I have looked all over at the dorm fridge idea and have seen mixed reviews, mostly on the negative side. I did find one site that has a plan that is supposed to work fairly well. Check out http://www.aloha.net/~hqf/indexjrosechiller2.htm

If I had the time, I would like to try a similar setup, but using one of those small chest freezers. That way it wouldn't have to work so hard to cool the water. I think as long as the water is circulating, it won't freeze. As long as you can run small tubing from it to the tank sump, it can be in another room as well. Also keep your fish food in it! :D
