Can they co-exist in a 55 gallon?

I've got:
1 yellow tang
1 Striped Damsel
1 Blue Damsel
1 True Percula(clownfish)

6 snails/6 hermits
Probably close to 75 lbs live rock

Yes, I had just about all you are mentioning together. The tang was the boss and never bother any other fish aslong as they were not new to the tank. If you are going to add any more fish don't get the tang cause they are very territorial. The damsels are a bit territorial but they tend to get their certain space and keep it always.

I think blue tangs need more room to swim, they can grow up to 12inch

As far as the two tangs coexisting together, you should be fine. Tangs can be territorial as previously mentioned and I have heard that yellows can get bad at times. I think if you add them at the same time or add the yellow last you will be ok. Usually with tangs, they can be hostile to other tangs of similar color and shape, although some will school together when they are young. As it appears you already have the yellow tang, you may have to rearrange your rock work right before you add the blue so the yellow will have to re-establish its territory

NOW, as far as two tangs in a 55 goes, go ahead and take your shirt off and start running through the neighborhood because the tang police are gonna be looking for you! Bad boy, bad boy, what ya gonna do? :police: LOL, I'm not one to talk though, I have a blue/hippo tang and a chocolate tang in a 58 right now! They are both small and I do have a 75gallon tank in the garage that I am working to set up soon so they have more room to swim. As long as you get two small specimens and plan on upgrading to a larger tank not too far down the road, you should be fine. The main problem you need to keep an eye on is to keep them properly fed as tangs like to graze on certain algae. My chocolate tang eats all the time so I have to keep seaweed/algae available either using a veggie clip or bound to a small rock. You can also feed them certain regular vegetables if they are cleaned really well. I think cucumbers, leafy lettuce and a few other things work well.
