Hi ladies/gentleman,
I will be going up to Austin this July 4-7th weekend. I would like to meet as many of you as possible because I know I will not be able to do it again until quite some time from now. If any of you would like to do so, please let me know. Ups, allow me return to "School Project Phase II," first, I would like to thank all who have decided to donate or sale items cheaper for this project. Secondly, I called it "Phase II" because now I must go and collect any items purchased or donated for this project with you ladies/gentleman. I need any who are still interested in helping out for this project to post it here or e-mail me please to fsalcedo76@hotmail.com. My friend Jaime will be my tour guide (hope he knows the city, JK) :-D . Once again thanks and please keep me posted on any good shops for aquariums (visiting Austin Aquariums for sure), and clothing (wife would love this), that are worth visiting in Austin.
Fabian
P.S.
I am very proud to say I am part of this great Organization!

You must be getting stuff from established tanks for me to donate the LTA. Fresh rock will kill it if you have a spike that is too high.

There is no problem with the items I am getting because I will place them either on the 30 gallon Jim is donating or on my stablished tank (100 2 yrs old.). Or my 10 gallon hospital tank/new fish tank..

There's this guy in SA that got several companies & manufacturers to donate LR & equipment for his wife's elementary class.

You should start to write a letter. Make sure that your classroom is not hot during the weekend first (from the AC possibly being off.)
As for clothing, there's the outlet mall in San Marcos. They will probably have a big 4th of July sales promotion going on.

Make sure you hydrate yourself the day b4 you go shopping at the outlet mall.

Thanks for your info. I don’t have any live rock for this tank yet and can’t put much from mine either because mine is missing quite a bit. I just have a fake full effect thanks to an egg crate that is holding most of my current rock. Also, my live rock is not all nice and attractive because most of it is new or it was dead coral just left on my tank for quite some time now creating a fake live rock look. The truth is; I am not sure who I should write a letter to, do you have an idea? Please help me out because I am starting to panic a little.

Figure out what you need. Write a good letter. Use the school's letterhead if you're allowed. Find the companies that manufacture the stuff that you needs. Here's a good start:
http://kentmarine.com/
http://www.ecosystemaquarium.com/index.html
http://www.gulf-view.com/
http://www.orafarm.com/
http://www.garf.org/ (if garf refuse to send anything let us know)
If they ever send you anything, please make sure you pay them back by getting your students to make a big thank you banner so that they can hang it at their manufacturing facility. Don't just fold up the banner and put it in the mail, roll it up, and mail it in those hard paper tubes.

Thanks for all of your support! I will meet as many of you as I can this 4-7th weekend. I guarantee you I will work on this very hard so others know how much we care about this great hobby and the importance of starting it from a very early age. I know my students will enjoy it just as much as we do.
