Ok ... after getting rid of the red slime algae and with many different opinions I have decided to add more pumps. My idea is to run along the back wall (behind the LR and low) with some PVC. Ill drill holes in it to create a constant wash (so to speak) for the LS in hopes of not letting as much settle. I run an Emperor (for filtration) as well as other pumps for circulation. I guess the question is ... 1 can I use the glue for PVC without harming anything and 2 hooking up to my pumps.

I have 1 MaxiJet1200
1 Rio 1700
2 Penguin 1140

1 penguin and 1 Maxi in the 58 gallon
1 penguin and 1 Rio in the 100 gallon

All the pumps are different and Im sure I cant use clamps (rust)? Am I on the right path or are there other suggestions?

Thanks Pete
The Penguins are just like the Maxis (small) and the ones I want to use for bottom circulation

I guess what you are asking, is it okay to use pvc glue? If that is the question then it is yes, but just beware if you are going to be running a pipe back behind everything under your rock. Just remember it will eventually clog up.

Yes ... I dont plan on gluing to the pump itself. Actually looking for a way to snug a fitting on that I can remove to clean. I dont think the pump can force it off if it is snug.

You know what I have done before to get a snug fit is put a piece of tube over the pump outlet tube. Sometimes that is all you need to get that snug fit.

Plastic hose clamps ... I will just hit the plumbins supply store tomorrow rather than the DIY along with the pump. With this info I should be set. As far as the skim on the bottom all is well?
