well it's official gang,i have bad luck with fish. my twinspot goby that i loved so much and had gone through hell in my tank has completely disappeared. i even took off my blue backing on the glass to look in the rocks but hes gone, no doubt about it.he didnt jump cuz hes not on the floor and hes not stuck to one of the filters either. i had a 3stripe damsel do this to me once before but i had hermit crabs then and tim told me thats probably where that one went but i have nothing but stomatella snails, two astreas, some lazzarus snails, and an emerald crab. any theories as to what happened to him??? oh well, se la vi (sp?).

on another note having the backing off has sparked new interest in getting the 18 gallon up and running. does anyone have a drill bit i can borrow to drill out my 18 gal? also does anyone have any suggestions as to overflow setups and what not. i want to do my next aquarium all automated and do it right so i need as much advice as possible please :D

hope yall are having better luck, steve

that you may have a mantis shrimp?

I would say a midnight investigation with a red lens flash light is in order.

Steve, he could be hiding in your rock too. I had my yellow watchmen in my 6 gallon nano for about 5 months. He went missing for about3 weeks, I moved everything looking for him. Assumed he died and bought another. Well as soon as second went in the first one popped out and got territorial. 6 months later I have a mated pair.

Twinspots are neat but I wouldn't keep them singly and they are supposed to be very delicate. Also they can jump like many gobies and if he did a cat or dog might have scarfed him up.

hey guys,

thanks for the tips. i dont know if i have enough room for a mantis shrimp big enough to take on my twin spot without me noticing in my little ten gallon. you may be right mike, he may be hiding somewhere, i havent seen him in 4 days so im starting to get worried. i guess i just wont think about it after all i do have a mini eco system in my tank and it can handle it if he did indeed go to the toilet bowl in the sky.

thanks again, steve

Steve sorry to hear about your twin-spot. He was very cool. I just had to check all the caluerpa to make sure he didn't hide in there, but no luck. Hopefully he is just hiding in the sand or under one of your corals.
