I would like to inform all of you MAAST members that MARSH's June monthly meeting is scheduled for June 7th in Houston at Aquatic Designs. Our speaker will be driving in from Austin to present to us. Our speaker will be Jim Norris, a member of MAAST and affiliated with Clams Direct. He has set up his own corporation for importing clams, http://www.tanku.net, and does so in his own house. He will be presenting on "Clams, Clams, Clams."

Keith, the owner of Aquatic Designs, will be preparing his shop for this event, and has said that he will have a nice clam set up ready for our viewing and purchasing pleasure.

GASP! So far there is nothing to raffle off at this meeting...but never fear! I am working on that, and hope to have something very nice ready for everyone in attendance to get a crack at winning.

I hope to see you all there. 8)

A little bit of added news:

Jim Norris has been kind enough to offer new 30 gallon custom design clam tank made by Aquatrend in San Antonio as a donation for a raffle at the meeting. I am working on having a few other things besides the tank to raffle off too, but that is just still in the works.

Just a little something to whet your appetites. :D

Oh, and one other minor bit of trivia that I left out of my original post....the meeting is at Aquatic Designs in Houston on June 7th at 11:00 AM.

Glad to hear that you will be coming in for the meeting. That is definitely an ambitious drive to see Jim Norris speak. Remember that the meeting starts at 11:00am on June 7th.

Will you be coming in the night before, or will you be getting in the car at 2:30am for the 8+ hour drive from Brownsville?

Awwwww.....C'mon Barry!!! It's only a 19 hour drive ;) You can do that in your sleep.... I know ya can.

19 hour drive in..... 2-3 hours for the meeting.....lunch..... 19 hour drive back. You leave early Friday afternoon, you could be back in Sunny Southern California by Sunday afternoon. ;) Who needs sleep or rest!!!

You can make it up to us by sending each attendee a free clam!

Take it easy.

I just wanted to bump this up the recent list as a reminder of the meeting this weekend. I really hope to see a lot of MAAST members at the meeting, as I know it will be great.

I am looking forward to meeting some of you for a second time, and others of you for the first time. I was at Jim Norris's place in April, and I was very encouraged by the support of this fledgling club with members driving in from all over central and south Texas. I hope to see that kind of enthusiasm on Saturday too.

Take it easy and I will see you all there. :D
