i think my brand new two spot goby i got the other day has ick. he has little white spots on his tail fin and front two side fins. all of his fins are showing signs of decay as well(very rapid i might add). he is still eating fine and has lost no coloration and is NOT darting or abnormal in his swimming(although he is getting chased quite a bit from my six line who i didnt think would be so aggresive).
can anyone suggest something to do or medication i will need to buy to help him out or will i need to set up a porcelain procession?
thanks in advance, steve

i bought a big cleaner shrimp when i bought the two spot but he hasnt done anything yet(i think he may be so big that he is intimmidating the fish) he is at least twice their sizes.

I have a thing called QuickCure says it's for Ick and Lymphocystis, you can have it if you want I got it just in case the blue tang got ick but he's loving the 120g tank, so as I said if you want it you can have it, have not use it tho, ;)

Try hyposalinity - SG<1.018 will kill ich organisms (they burst!!). If you can catch the fish and he is still in reasonable good health try a fresh water dip (pH adjusted FW!) I slowly lower the SG over a few days until I dont see anymore ich. Ive done this in my reef tank at home and didnt lose any corals (no SPS at the time). Starfish are a little sensitive but if you go slow they should be OK.

Steve...just don't go out & buy GreenEx. LFS told me to use when I first got my regal tang...Don't believe it is as reef safe as they say....If he is being harrassed...I personally would get him out & quarantine him. He apparently hasn't been able to adjust. Cleaner shrimp can't do anything for the shape his fins are in... Any weak fish is a target for the others.
Of course...my regal wasn't harrassed...just shy & scared at first...now he feeds out of my hand & hangs with my clown's. He settled & the cleaner shrimp did their part...
IMO...as I'm still in the learning stage myself! :rotf:
