I've noticed in the last couple of days....some small round snails that were not there before. They look white with "tan" spots on them???Anyone familiar with these guys? And if so...are they not a good thing?? If they're bad...how do I get rid of them & what harm will they do?
Thanks
Sherri

Sherri, they may be small stomatella snails. They are kind of limpet looking but have a mottled shell and reproduce like mad in tanks. If it's really small could be one of the pyramidellid snails but I think they are pretty much conical in shape?

Almost all of these snails are OK as long as they don't hang around your Clam mantel, or on your snails. I got a large number in my tank. There are so many snails species that it is hard to tell. Just observe and if you think they are parasitic snails that prey on your clams, or (a different species) prey on your larger snails then take them out.

Thanks Minh...that was my main concern...was my clam...as far as I can see...they haven't messed with it. Will keep a close watch.
Thanks for the info you guys...
