Aqua Craft, Inc. is the maker of the finest salt (IMO). It comes in three models: Marine Environment, Bio-SEa, and Coral Marine. After many (and I mean many) years of using all types this is for me. Check it out at www.aquacraft.net Right now I am paying retail but have applied for wholesale prices. If anybody is interested then let get together. The Marine Environment has to be mixed all 50 gallons at a time. So if this is not possible then Bio-Sea is the choice. This can be mixed as required.

There has been great debate as of late (i'm a poet and I don't no it) about this salt compared to others on the market.

Haha... but you're no english major! :-D :-D :-D

And Jim i'd be willing to go in for a few bags. Not sure how many yet but let us know when you get prices.

OK folks! This is what I have coming 18 50 gallon bags of Marine Environment. This the the best salt on the market for-----clams and sps corals. This is best mixed all at once because of the two part formula. The main reasons this is beat for sps corals and clams is because of it's HIGH calcium. Also this salt is the most consistance bag to bag than any other salt made!
I can get this and sell it for $19.95 for a 50 gallon bag.
The Bio-Sea salt is actually the closest salt made to natural sea water. I have 18 50 gallon bags of this coming also. It's main differance from Marine Environment is that it is not a two part formula and that allows it to be mixed as needed!
I can get this and sell it for $17.95 for a 50 gallon bag.
So let me know what you want and everyone in S.A. maybe I can arrange a central drop off point down there????
Jim
P.S. this encludes tax

I would like to try a bag of the marine environment. With my now small tanks, this should last long enough to not make the cost too much to handle (better now then when I had over 400+ gallons of SW tanks).

reefer,
I check The International Organization for Standardization (established in 1947) website and could not fine any for the Fortune 500 companies listed???? I can understand why IO rep knew nothing about the iso9000! ISO's purpose is to facslitate international trade by providing a single set of standards. Is this possible in marine salt???? There is a significant inverstment in time resources and MONEY to become and maintain iso 9000 registration. I will check with the owner of Aquacraft and ask him (but I think your answer is no) IMO if I own a company I do not think I would pay the price to be a member of this club. Do most of the Fortune 500 think the same way?

The company I used to work for became ISO9000 certified, and it was a big crock of sh.... IMHO. 85% of it was getting all of our documentation straight so that we didnt have duplicate docs w/ diff doc numbers, and
they all had to be kept in a single location, so that anyone in the company could access them. You couldnt keep procedures to do stuff on hand, they had to be printed when needed. There were lots of other anal retentive stuff that we had to do, or couldnt do. Almost everyone I worked with, hated it....cs

Anyways, back to the topic of salt, Jim, what was the stuff in the jugs at the meeting, that were given away as door prizes. I think it was made by Fritz? How many gallons did that make? Basically, what is the scoop on that stuff? Have you used it personally?

WITECAP4U,
The Fritz's salt you got is a one gallon container that makes 10 gallons of salt. Yes before switching to Marine Enviroment I was using Fritz's super salt. Actually the maker of Marine Enviroment had nothing but good things to say about Fritz's super salt. Fritz is not mention in the now famous S-15 salt study where Marine Enviroment and it's sister salt Bio-Sea came in first and second.
Jim
P.S. Visited the new Aquatic store here is Austin with Tim today and they are using Fritz salt in their system. I was impressed with their set up!!!!!
So yes do not hestitate to use Fritz's salt.

Jim, I will give up my bags for the good of the club, but I want at least one. If you have plenty then don't sell off mine just to sell it.

I might be interested in trying some later on. I just got a new bucket of IO salt a few weeks ago when it was on sale and won't need any for awhile.
