gosh, could there be enough copper to kill?

Hey everyone, well I am still setting up my 18g nano that I converted from my old freshwater tank. I do remember i used a snail killer in it two times, a total of 36 drops about 3 days before starting over with the saltwater tank. I totally started over, I washed out the tank many times, and nothing was re-used in this process but the glass tank itself. do you think I could still have toxic levels oc copper in the tank to kill inverts down the road? is there any way to remove copper? I am freaked out now. Thanks everyone for your help!

Search reefcentral for the best answer on this, I think Ron Shimek , Eric Borneman, or Randy holmes-farley have answered this before. I forget which though. From what I remember you cant use a single thing from the setup, including the glass or acrylic tank. There is a very involved nasty chemical process that must take place to remove it, only worth it on HUUUUUGE show tanks, like hundreds of gallons....IMO

What kind of copper. Chelated or ionic? Do you remember who the manufacture was?

I would fill the tank with freshwater, run it for a day or so and then test it for copper if is is more than .06-.09ppm i would crash the ph, then after 24 hours dump the water. Then refill and test again in a day or so. If that didn't work, I would consider not using the tank.

I'm not totaly sure but i believe seawater is @ .09ppm copper.
