Have you try out the Rio 360 Motion on a reef tank? I bought one and will try it on my Maxijet 1200.

The Rio Motion fittings provide a constant 360º current surge .
Its simple design means there is no need for additional electrical and mechanical components, reducing cost, risk of breakage and consumable spare parts. The multi directional "duck bill" nozzles allow the user to adjust the direction of flow to their exact requirements. Rio Motion is especially helpful in reef aquariums to duplicate the moving current of the ocean.

I haven't used it, but I've seen in running for one year in one store, and six month in the other. The guy who ran it for six month say he does clean it out around once a month. It's supposed to be used on Rio 600 to 800 pump but both stores that I've been to used it on their Maxijet pump. It's a product from Rio, what more can I say about Rio product.

Yes I have used them before. NONE still working. They do work until they will stop. They also take up alot of room. Make sure the unit is low enough in the water or as the rotation gets to the top of the water line it may squirt water on something like lights/you!

So, it looks like it just spins by using the jet of water coming out the end to push it......? How fast does it turn?

Someone suggested to lubricate it with vaseline and clean it out to keep it operational. It's powered by the water jet from the water pump. I guess the speed depend on the angle of the adjustable outlet pipes.
