All mine are fine, sun polyp will not open until tonight, but seems OK. The hammer coral is not a hammer, or a branched hammer. I think it may be a torch coral (Euphyllia glabrescens). Shipping error or did I grab the wrong bag?

So I take it that means they did not ship the hammer?? They just didn't like me, did they? Wrong snails, no hammer, boy....

Mike, sorry. We looked at it and jumped to branched hammer since that is what we were looking for. Do you still want it? If you want it, I can get it to you or you can get it from me. If you don't I'll keep it. It is very pretty, just not what I wanted. You can come look at it and see if you want it, also. Let me know. I do apologize.

One of my percs was looking a bit white and laying on it's side in the bag but seems to be okay now.

Misti take pics of your sun coral! I've been wanting one for the longest time... just haven't taken the plunge to buy one yet.

I had one in my tank when you came by. This is number two. It has a wonderfully easy place to frag into two where there are no polyps and it is thin.

I thinkt hat I am the only one in this group who has no digital camera. I keep saying that i am going to remedy that, but...

Misti - no big deal on the torch. I ordered that one specifically because it was the nice green. If you like it that's fine just keep it and Josh and I will work out the missing piece/cost. I'd rather not uproot it and stress the animal again. If it's happy in your tank and does well then let it stay.

Everything else on my order was fine and I definitely need to snap pics of this long tentacle plate and the elegance once they settle in - they are flat out gorgeous.

My stuff is doing good so far, the tang was swimming around the tank and the cleaner shrimp were eating blood worms so things look good so far.

Thanks Josh.

Misti - That's what I ordered I believe. I had a feeling they might have made a substitution they had a limited number in stock of the green variety.

Josh,

Thanks for getting the Wrasse for me. He disappeared shortly after entering the tank, so I guess he has buried himself. Hopefully he will surface soon.

My big Maroon Clown evidently went nuts and found a small space in the back of my hood after lights out last night and was found DOA on the floor this morning. Need to find some eggcrate to prevent any more jumpers.

Too bad the Cowrie was MIA. Maybe I can get one next time.

Yes, losing the clown is a real drag.

The Blue Surgeon/Tang is being shy again today since his swimming buddy is gone. Hopefully he'll get his courage back soon.

I skipped dipping the elegance, it looked rough - just a quick acclimation and into the tank. Looks amazing this morning. One thing though after introducing that and the long tentacle plate last night I wake up and my hippo tang has popeye in his left eye. I'm wondering if skipping the dip on the elegance he may have gotten some kind of pathogen.

*Sigh*just got him healthy, fat and to stay out while I'm near the tank.

Josh, I've been using this TechD stuff from Kent. Like the seachem it's mostly iodine. No idea if stuff that could affect fish could come in on corals but it seems possible. Tank is going to be dismantled in a week or two and everything is going in the 75 gallon anyways.

Josh,

Well, the six-line emerged this afternoon and is doing well. :D He is eating and exploring his new surroundings. Looks like he will be a wonderful addition to the tank.

Thanks again.

It is rare, but possible for something to come in on a coral that will effect a fish.
Sorry I forgot to tell you it is a bad time to buy corals right now. The importers don't have permits right now so collection has not been running. All you will get right now is what is in country already. I am working on some collectors in Florida and may have some red and orange ricordia as well as the usual stuff from there soon. It will be priced better also. Like peppermints for $3-$4 each. Anyway, I'll keep ya'll posted.

Whatever it was I put a new bag of carbon in and did a 5 gallon water change and gave the hippo some garlic/spirulina flakes and the 'popeye' was gone the next morning.

I'm working on keeping the elegance healthy I am certain it got pretty stressed on shipping - have on sandbed now but may move up into rockwork a little closer to lights.

Elegancy don't seem to do very well anyway.

Yeah, this is one of the first 'questionable' corals I have bought. I rarely see them for sale and wanted to gamble on getting a healthy specimen. Supposedly the ones collected now may be from deeper water? Thus not relying as much on photosynthesis.

If it starts languishing I'll try and find someone with a very solid tank to possibly try taking it. It's a shame they are stunning corals when expanded.

I had one that thrived about 13 years ago. It lived in a tank with 6-40watt bulbs, low flow, and heavy caulerpa growth.
