I am considerig doing another order from www.thelogicalreef.com in a week or sow when he gets some more stock. Anyone else interested in picking up some nice zoos and splitting shipping with me? Sadly since everyone found out about him Ryan's stuff sells out fast so my backup plan is to order from Rob at www.eastcoastclams.com who gets his zoos from the same place I hear and usually has some in stock.
Alternately if someone here locally who can buy nice morphs from wholesalers that would work and I will just buy colonies and frag them up myself and sell the extras. Specifically looking for some of the nice color morphs like blues, purples etc. - Check the gallery on reefcentral for examples of the kind I'm looking for.
Here's link to some of the nice zoos:

Why does no one in central texas sell cool zooanthids?

You want me to check out the stores in Houston? What color morph are you looking for and how much are you willing to pay to these stores? I've seen color like this:

Vinh, I am looking for stuff like that. It would be nice to get 4 or 5 small frags instead of buying 60-70 dollars a piece for colonies. If you know of a good store in houston let me know and I'll check it out next time I'm down there.

There's lot of good stores down here, but if you want the best selection, you'll want to show up when they've just received their stuff (Tuesday and/or Thursday.) I like to buy it when it's still in the bag to avoid any contamination. The downside is that I have to acclimate the corals, and I can't see what the corals really look like. Did you already buy some ultra orange zooanthids from Tim Marvin?
I'm going to check out the store on Saturday, so we'll see what's up.

Mike,
I would love to buy some as well. Let me know if/when you find some great looking purple/green/blue (or combinations) zoo's.

Hi Mike,
I just got back from checking a bunch of stores. Most of the stores here are keeping their corals under a bunch of URI SuperActinic and 50/50 bulbs. It's hard to see the true color of the zooanthids under this condition. You might want to either order online and relies on those photo under 10K MH bulb to give a more accurate color.
http://globalfishnpet.com/ on Bellaire and Synott have some decent color zoonthids on small rock:
*Yellow Polyps on one side, Pink zooanthids on the other side.
*Orange fingers, light purple discs
*Brown fingers, jade-ish green discs, orange mouth
*Brown fingers, marble discs( swirly of yellow, brown, etc)
You should call them up b4 you head down to check on availability.
Fish World on Bellaire & Synott have large rocks of zooanthids for cheap. But I can't really make out any distinct color. Only slightly purplish, so I would classify it as cheap brown zooanthids to be on the safe side.
You might want to wait until Indonesia get their CITES paper-work approved in order to have the best corals selection.

Vinh, thanks much. Next time I have to drive to Houston I'll check those places out. I did score a really nice zoo rock from Aquatek yesterday which fits perfectly on a rock shelf in my nano - had about 5 different shades including pinks, reds and flourescent greens. I'll just keep trying to beat everyone to the next batch at www.thelogicalreef.com when he posts it for sale.
I have mine under 96 watt powerquad in my 18 gallon. Thinking about putting my 250w halide fixture over tank if I can rig up a canopy or pendant for it.

Yves, I didn't see any pictures posted by you. Are any of your zoo's fraggable or for sale?

Techno, Count me in on ANY zoo's you can get from Bryan at Logical reef. I'm not sure if you were thinking about buying several of the nice pieces and fragging those, or dividing the pieces up. I think it may be really hard to get pieces from him, but if you think you can do it that would be wonderfully awesome! Let me know what you find.
